Just a day after our initial post – we’ve got an image of Canons new RF 50mm f 1.8 STM lens.
It’s no secret that Canon has been heavily investing in its full frame mirrorless lineup – the EOS R5 and R6 and a slew of RF lenses are a testament to that. Their range has been so successful that they are about to dethrone Sony from the fullframe spot.
Not wanting to rest on its laurels, Canon is currently working on releasing its first EOS R camera with an APS-C sensor, and they are preparing to release two new RF lenses – that is if we can believe the latest rumor that are coming from Nokishita.
The word on the street is that Canon has added the RF 70-200mm f / 4 L IS USM and the RF 50mm f / 1.8 STM to its product list, which indicates that they might present them in the next coming days.
Rumors have been floating around that Canon might be debuting a the new 50mm f/1.8 lens – so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they would announce it soon.

The RF 50mm F1.8 STM Lens will be available for an affordable $199 pre tax. We would have guess that Canon would have priced the lens a tad higher, but it seems like they are really trying to target a new consumer base with this lens.
